These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of www.self-taughtcre.com, courses.self-taughtcre.com and any courses, downloads, coaching and other content offered by Self-Taught CRE ("Self-Taught CRE," "we," "us" or "our"). By creating an account, making a purchase or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when you create an account and keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of majority where you live if higher, to purchase a course.
2. Purchases and Payment
Prices are shown at checkout in U.S. dollars and may change at any time, though changes will not affect purchases already made. Payment is due in full at the time of purchase and is processed by our course platform and its payment processors. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
3. Refunds
All sales are final except where a refund policy is stated on the product page or at checkout, or where a refund is required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact [email protected].
4. Your License to Use Course Content
When you purchase a course, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and view the course and to use the included workbooks, templates and guides for your own learning and your own professional work, including underwriting real deals. Your purchase includes lifetime access to the course and its future updates, meaning access for as long as the course is offered through the Site.
You may not:
- Share your account or login with anyone else
- Copy, resell, redistribute, publish or post course videos, the Definitive Guide or other course materials, in whole or in part
- Use course materials to create a competing course, training program or product
- Record, download or scrape course content except through download features we provide
We may suspend or terminate access, without refund, if these license terms are violated.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including videos, text, models, workbooks, guides, graphics, logos and the Self-Taught CRE name, is owned by or licensed to Self-Taught CRE and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any content to you.
6. Educational Purposes Only
Our courses, coaching and content are for educational purposes only. They are not investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, and they are not an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security or real estate interest. Examples, case studies and models are illustrative and may not reflect actual market conditions. You are solely responsible for your own investment and career decisions and should consult qualified professionals before acting. We do not guarantee any particular result, including any job offer, interview outcome, promotion or investment return.
7. Coaching Sessions
One-on-one or group coaching is subject to the scheduling, cancellation and payment terms shown when you book. Coaching is educational and is subject to Section 6.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with its operation, uploading harmful code, harassing other users or using the Site for any unlawful purpose.
9. Third-Party Services
The Site relies on third-party providers such as Thinkific, Squarespace and payment processors. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Self-Taught CRE and its owners, instructors and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or investment value, arising from your use of the Site or its content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Self-Taught CRE and its owners and instructors from any claims, losses or expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site or its content.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
